SPROUTS Adventures in Art & Nature

A unique Wildflowers experience for preschoolers (ages 3-5)!

9am-12:30 pm

Our Sprouts curriculum is inspired by Reggio Emilia. We believe that children are curious by nature and our philosophy is to create an environment that feeds that curiosity in a developmentally appropriate way.

Each day at Sprouts children will have opportunities to independently explore, act as unique part of a small supportive community, and participate in real and meaningful learning.

During our first hour children have the opportunity to engage in the four learning areas in the large studio space at their own pace. The invitations for learning change week to week. Sometimes all Sprouts are independently working in their own space. Sometimes  they are all piled into the sand boat negotiating for space and collectively collaborating on a self-designed project. This exploration provides time to foster independence in a safe and engaging environment.

After exploration, Sprouts facilitators lead children in mindfulness, outdoor exploration and weekly projects designed to help children dive deep into their play and work. Projects are designed to mesh Art with the concepts of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEAM).

We use our dreamy LANG FARM setting to incorporate nature into nearly ALL of our projects. Sometimes this will mean taking walks to gather materials. Sometimes it will mean simply gathering inspiration from our fantastic 12 acres of farmland! Each day that it is safe to do so, we will go outside!!

Our highest Student to teacher ratio is 1:7. We have two dynamic teachers in our Program, Aimee Riegler and Ruby Henry. Click here to check out their staff bios. Our total enrollment for 2019/2020 will not exceed 14 children.
